Teddy Cecil ’s noir - drenched Helio has some obvious influence , but they ’re good ones ( Blade Runner , 1984 ) , and the images are striking . The master character , a miner whose name we never learn , has only a abbreviated snipping of dialogue ; he ’s basically all military action and panicked emotion . Though it ’s a longish short — essentially one retentive 18 - minute Salmon P. Chase setting — Helio is well deserving the prison term it take to watch it .
