A lot of people call on their nose up at trailer park . That ’s unfair , and David Waldorf’sphoto try out about the Brookside Trailer Park in Sonoma , Californiashow us that there ’s beauty everywhere , trailer park included .
Waldorfspent yearsdriving to Brookside in a Uhaul that he ’d set up to be a mobile studio apartment . The accomplished lensman would offer free portrayal to the resident of the trailer green , and finally , they came to trust him and invite him into their homes . The access give way a serial publication of stunning ikon showing Brookside resident in their plate being themselves . The pic are nothing short of poignant .
There ’s something else , though . The photos resonate with me , I believe , specifically because I myself have played the part of a tv camera - toting foreigner in a miserly rumple residential district . Chris Killip , my photographer instructor in college , always challenged me to go to office I would n’t unremarkably and talk to people I might otherwise deflect . Sometimes you have remove yourself from your comfort zone in rules of order to rule a fresh view on your subjects .

Waldorf is clearly a master at this . Clicking through his work , it ’s vindicated he has a giving for capturing people in a wonderfully informal military capability . His photos are the kinda of photos that make you want to take photos of your own . And those are the sound kind . [ David WaldorfviaFastCo Design ]
