Britney Spearshas resurfaced on social media to reassure fans that she’s okay as she continues toseek treatment.
“Hi guys, just checking in with all of you who are concerned about me,” Spears, 37, said in a video shared on Instagram Tuesday.
“All is well. My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to deal.”
“Don’t worry I’ll be back very soon,” Spears, who wore a lace top and left her hair and makeup messy, added.
The “Piece of Me” singer went into further detail about her current situation in the caption writing, “I wanted to say hi because things that are being said have just gotten out of control!!!”
“Wow!!! There’s rumors, death threats to my family and my team, and just so many things — crazy things being said. I am trying to take a moment for myself, but everything that’s happening is just making it harder for me,” Spears continued.
“Don’t believe everything you read and hear.”
Spears then went on to slam her former manager Sam Lutfi for allegedly sending “fake emails” and indirectly addressed the #freebritney movement which has suggested she is being held against her will.
“I did not write them. He was pretending to be me and communicating with my team with a fake email address,” Spears wrote.
“My situation is unique, but I promise I’m doing what’s best at this moment 🌸🌸🌸 You may not know this about me, but I am strong, and stand up for what I want!”
Lutfi did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment, though he later denied Spears’ allegations on Twitter.
Spears also praised her fans for their overwhelming support.
“Your love and dedication is amazing, but what I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way.”
“If you could do that, I would be forever grateful. Love you ❤️❤️❤️,” Spears concluded.
Spears’ heartfelt message comes just hours after her boyfriend Sam Asgharispoke out about her condition.
“She’s doing great,” Asghari, 25,told TMZon Tuesday. “Thank you for your concern.”
“She’s doing amazing,” Asghari continued before acknowledging theoverwhelming supportSpears has received from both celebrities and fans.

“Her fans are so amazing to be so concerned, but she’s doing great,” Asghari told the outlet. “Nobody needs to worry.”
He also left a comment on Spears’ Instagram post, writing, “Sometimes showing respect and privacy is the best support people can offer. #bestfans”
Fans of the “Piece of Me” singer have questioned the star’s treatment and some even gathered Monday night in Los Angeles outside West Hollywood City Hall and demanding she is released.
She continued, “Do not come for me or the ones I love anymore.”
A source close to Spears told PEOPLE the singermade the decisionto get help all on her own.
“She recognized she needed to focus on her own health and sought treatment,” the source close to the situation continues. “No one forced her to go.”
In November 2018, Spears’ father became seriously ill after his colon spontaneously ruptured. Jamie’s hospitalization and subsequent surgeries have taken an emotional toll on his daughter, according to the Spears family insider, who recentlytold PEOPLEthat she “was absolutely devastated and out-of-mind worried” when he first entered the hospital.

The insider adds that Spears’ father Jamie, who continues to recover from a life-threateningcolon rupture, is “doing okay” health wise.
Late last year, the mother of two was gearing up for a return to the Las Vegas strip with her showDominationfollowing her wildly successful Vegas showBritney: Piece of Meon tour that summer.
But in January, Spears announced that she was taking anindefinite breakfrom work to support her father. “[My father and I] have a very special relationship and I want to be with my family at this time just like they have always been there for me,” she said in her statement to PEOPLE about halting her career.
