We all have that handful of bands that really blew us away in highschool , but only a few of them can stand up the test of time . Catch 22 is pretty high up there on my list . The whole album Keasbey Nights is fantastic ( but the post - Keasbey Nights stuff is more meh ) and “ walk aside ” is completely one of the standouts , as much as one can stand out among a assembling of classics .
While not the most in - your - expression or anthemic call on the album , “ Walking Away ” is noteworthy for being skillful and upbeat while simultaneously being sorry as all hell . Of course , this is ( good ) ska , so that sort of come with the territory . Despite being eminently whistle - able-bodied , “ Walking off ” manages to wad in a passably depressing story of the promising beginning and inevitable oddment of an total relationship , all in three short verses and a chorus . It ’s a head trip .
And if you’re able to dig this , but have n’t checked out Keasbey Nights in its entirety ( ! ) you shoulddo that right away . If you ’re going to mind to just one ska album , this one piddle a passably serious case for itself . [ Spotify , Amazon , iTunes ]
