Logan rightfully feels like the end of an era for the X - Men movies . Not just because Hugh Jackman is leaving the persona behind , but because it comes at a metre when the dealership itself feels up in the air . X - human being : Apocalypse disappointed , Deadpool wow , and TV entry Legion is surprising . Who knows what ’s next ?
Simon Kinberg does . He ’s the executive producer of Legion . He give rise Logan , as well as Deadpool and cristal - Men : Revelation . And he ’s therumored frontrunner to lead the next X - Men moving picture . Recently , he verbalize to Deadline and drop some revealing update on all matter X - Men movies . We ’ll start with the non - spoiler poppycock before getting into the Logan ramifications . Here ’s the overview :
We are working heavily on New Mutants , Gambit with Channing Tatum , Deadpool 2 and the new X - Force picture where Deadpool is alongside Cable and other chief characters .
That may be the first metre we ’ve heard definitively that Deadpool will be in the X - Force picture , though it was apparently the assumption . As for what that film will be , Kinberg keep on :
X - Force is a combination of Deadpool , and Cable – they ’re like the Black ops of the X - Men . They ’re much darker and have an R - rate dB . There are other X - Men case coming into X - Force at different time in the comic , but it ’s disjoined from X - world .
Of course , we recently hear Joe Carnahanis write a playscript forX - Force and while he does n’t mention that , the way Kinberg talks about it , he seems to expect it to happen fairly quickly . emphatically before a third Deadpool movie at least . But , we guess , X - Force is kind of its own Deadpool sequel in a way .
Oddly , when need the order of what ’s next movie - wise , Kinberg mentioned Deadpool 2 and X - Force but not New Mutants , which manyassumed would be next to gointo production after Deadpool 2 . That may still be the compositor’s case and perhaps it just slipped his mind , but it ’s interesting to note .
Kinberg then explained that while there is a programme for the motion-picture show to link up , that is not their main goal .
There is a large architecture to tell these news report in . I lecture to the studio apartment all the sentence about this and there is a plan for how these movies can unite and be a part of a big story . It ’s something that ’s fun , exciting and it will be interesting to see how we marry the different flavor that we ’ve been mother in these standalone movies of the ecstasy - Men universe . The writer - producer also does n’t refuse the rumor that he could direct the next ten - Men movie , whenever that would be , but he does n’t reassert them either .
Okay , and now the Logan spoilers and how the ending of that picture show will come across beyond .
As you likely know , Logan ends not just with the end of Professor X , but Wolverine himself . Kinberg was take about proceed that character and if Hugh Jackman would have a theatrical role in that . Here ’s his answer :
We have n’t even consider of the next loop of Wolverine . For all of us , we were hold our finger crossed that the audience would respond to Logan the room they have . I ca n’t visualise in my head another Wolverine but if that Clarence Day ever come , we would utter to Hugh about it .
There ’s no mention of how X-23 could potentially continue that pall , or if they would just boot the character . We ’ll have to see . But , for now , it seems like the focus — at least after Logan — is the X - Force and Deadpool existence .
