His typeface , calledBraille Neue , has two versions : one for Nipponese lineament , and one that works for both Japanese and the papistic alphabet . The lines in aristocratic interpret the written schoolbook . Someone who uses their eyes to show can trace the meaning of a letter from looking at that component alone . Each reference is also marked with one or more black DoT ; this represents the letter in Louis Braille . A vision - impaired person can feel the raised swelling to read it like they normally would , while a sighted person can well see which braille pattern fit to which characters .
Takahashi is n’t the first designer to cover text edition and Louis Braille , and he does n’t project to be the last . He hopes his labor will instigate more people to improve on his project and make braille face of their own . " Through the donation of increasing the variation of face that combine braille with existing character , I believe we can create an inclusive high society where using braille becomes commonplace , " Takahashi tells Mental Floss .
Braille Neue is just a concept for now , but Takahashi sees it one day replacing current signs that display Louis Braille and text separately . In the myopic term , he envisions the case being used at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games .
