On Tuesday, Morgan Freche, 33, of Loranger, was arrested and charged with third-degree rape, oral sexual battery and four counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office said,WDSUreports.
Police issued several warrants for her arrest after investigating her for alleged sexual misconduct with a minor, the TPSO said,WVUEreports.
She turned herself in,Fox Newsreports.
“While we cannot share specific details regarding the investigation, we can confirm that the allegations were dealt with promptly, and the investigation process has been rigorous and thorough,” Sheriff Daniel Edwards said in a statement.
The alleged crimes were only recently reported, but began two years ago, the TPSO said, WDSU reports.

Freche, who taught physical education, resigned from Loranger Middle School on Sept. 28, WDSU reports.
“We have just learned of the arrest of former Tangipahoa Parish teacher, Morgan Freche,” Tangipahoa Parish School Superintendent Melissa Stilley said in a statement about the allegations. “Although personnel and student matters are confidential and the specifics of such matters may not be discussed, student safety and the proper conduct of school district employees are a priority.
“Neither the Board nor this office will tolerate employee behavior which crosses the line in areas such as the proper professional relationships between educators and their students.”
The teen’s family wants accountability for the teacher’s alleged crimes, their lawyer told WDSU.
The teen’s family is working on getting therapy for the teen, Tucker told WDSU.
It is unclear whether Freche has entered pleas to the charges or retained an attorney who can speak on her behalf. The TPSO did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
