For something that was developed in the former 1970s , the now - defunct supersonic Concorde K was the most futurist - look airliner the existence had ever see . Until now , that is .
This unmanned prototype of a ultrasonic airplane — a sheet which can move around faster than the hurrying of speech sound — was unveiled to the medium in Utsunomiya , Japan last week . The plane is being developed by Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and Fuji Heavy Industries Inc.
The image , which weighs a ton and measures eight metre in length , will go through a serial publication of flight examination by and by this class in Sweden .
A major drawback of the original supersonic blue jet , the Concorde , was that it was ridiculously loud . But this one is being designed to feature significant noise reduction event . If a rider jet for up to 50 citizenry is built with the same engineering , it could be about 75 % quieter than the Concorde .
