Michelle Youngand Jack Leius are proud of their love story.
The formerBacheloretteand former college football player made their first debut as a couple at theGolden Bachelorweddingon Thursday night, telling PEOPLE how it feels to bring their relationship public.

Young, 30, announced her relationship with Leius, 26, on Instagram in October, and behind the scenes, the pair have been all about family. So far, Young says there have only been green flags.
“My mom and my dad genuinely love him so much. My family loves him so much. My nephews love him so much, and it’s just been a really easy transition,” Young said. “And they always say love’s supposed to be easy, but the communication, we truly have been able to work through anything. And when you’re in the public eye, we had to talk about a lot of things up front, and we had to talk about a lot of just different things and be really honest with each other.”
One of the pair’s first tests was when photos of them went viral — just a few days after they met, “I remember the first time we got put in a tabloid, I literally looked at him, I’m like — it was after four days of meeting — I said, ‘S—, Jack, we’re out and everybody’s posting about us. They saw us. There’s all these pictures. What do I need to know about you that I don’t know?’” Young remembers. “And he’s like, ‘Well, I got two or three speeding tickets and I’m asthmatic.’”
Of the strength of their relationship, Leius adds, “Our foundation is undefeated.”

Young handed out roses onThe Bachelorettein 2021, when she found love withNayte Olukoya. The couple ended their engagement off screen six months after the show’s finale. “I will say that this isnot something that I foresawand I’ll leave it there,” Young said of the split when speaking on theThe Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast.
Olukoyaissued a statementaround the time they split saying, “As we grow and learn, we also realize that sometimes somebody that you hold dear to your heart isn’t somebody that you’re meant to spend the rest of your life with.”
