Frozen 4 Is in the Works, Reveals Disney CEO Bob Iger

Nine months after announcingan upcoming thirdFrozenmovie,Walt Disney CompanyCEOBob Igerhas revealed that there will also be a fourth installment of the popular animated musical franchise.

In a speech from Hong Kong Disneyland shared onGood Morning AmericaThursday as the park opened its new"World of Frozen"area, Iger teased toMichael Strahan, “I’ll give you a little surprise there Michael:Frozen 3is in the works and theremightbe aFrozen 4in the works, too.”

Details are being kept under wraps for now, though, as the 72-year-old executive noted, “I don’t have much to say about those films right now.”

“ButJenn Lee, who createdFrozen— the originalFrozenandFrozen 2— is hard at work with her team at Disney Animation on not one but actually two stories,” Iger added.

Frozen’s cast has been open about desiring another sequel. In June 2022,Kristen Bell, who voices Anna, joked onThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, “I would like to officially announce, with zero authority,Frozen 3.”

When the audience cheered in response, Bell, 43, clarified, “Please bear in mindI did say ‘zero authority,‘‘cause I can’t [actually announce it]. I can’t do that — I’m not in charge. But there could be something in the works and something maybe happening, maybe.”

“I’ll keep it mysterious,” she added. “But I knowIdina [Menzel]recently said she would do it, and I feel like if we’re all in, what are we waiting for?”

AndFrozen’sOscar-winning songwriters are ready for the third installment of the franchise — even if theysay they were surprisedas anyone else that there would be another movie.

“They told us, the day of, and a little bit about what they’re thinking,“Kristen Anderson-LopeztoldColliderin March, about how she and her songwriting partner and husbandRobert Lopezheard the news. “It got us very excited. Now, we have to let the wheels of Hollywood do what they do, but we were very excited with their ideas.”

“I don’t know what I’m doing on it yet — I’m not doing nothing — except doing what I do now, which is we work on every project as as team and I’m in there with creative,” she explained, according to the publication. “But withFrozen, just a little bit more.”

The filmmaker also opened up about her “philosophy” when it comes to movies, specifically the popular franchise. “If there is more story to tell, the filmmakers have to drive it,” Lee said. “And I’ll say withFrozen, Marc Smith, who was our director of story onFrozen 2, came withan incredible idea for moreFrozen, and it’s worth it.”
