So I ’m reading this review of the HeadRoom BitHead earphone amplifier — really more of an essay about its relative technical merits , rumination about singing in freeform jazz , etc . , in typical , delightful Dan ’s Data form — and I get all excited about trying phone ampere again , because I just so happen to be listening to music on headphones while I ’m translate it , as I often do at the computer . I ’ve even have my credit rating board out ( well , I ’m looking at my notecase , at least ) and I ’m quick to get this BitHead thing , because it sounds bang-up — dual 1/8th in outs , double - obligation as a USB audio equipment , some “ Audio Image Processor ” stereo - phase doohickey — until I see the $ 200 terms tatter . Can these things really be worth the price of what is , to me , a killer congeal of headphones ? Do n’t answer that . It ’s time to take the headphone amp plunge , I think , but I ’m too gaudy for these BitHeads , so I think that intend it ’s prison term to start count at DIY sites likeHeadWize .
