1 . Your time on the floor is valuable meter . If a company requests you hang a presentation in central for a solid free gift , chances are their demonstration is n’t very worthwhile . At a CES or E3 , you are looking at products that wo n’t be usable from 6 months to who bed when . Is a small piece of yesterday ’s technology really worth miss out on a coup d’oeil of tomorrow ’s ?
2 . Chow ’s right , the last day of a conference is a peachy fourth dimension to stock up on the leftover , but be careful . While a few ship’s company will greet you with open coat of arms , most of the skillful swag is give out early on . If there is something you need to have , like that inflatable sword / floatation gadget / missy chaser awayer , vacillation by the kiosk and get it on day 1 . 3 . A media pass alone can really mean very niggling in a conference full of medium . Not only must you still often expect for swag , you must ask someone who actually give a crap you are medium . Most of the frontline booth faculty is filled with temps who do n’t worry about you , pillage , or that 103 - inch plasma behind them . They want to get home cascade off your geekfilth . Screw them – reckon for someone who is either older , overbold , or is holding a clipbaord . Then guilt / beg / threaten them for some plunder goodness .
We ’re not saying Chow wrote a defective list – it just does n’t play the system of rules . There is a reason the Intranational Kotaku Swag - Off only endure 30 - minutes ; it should n’t take a whole conference to walk aside with all the liberal crap you require .
