Prince William, Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales visit the Grange Pavilion as they celebrate the beginning of Black History Month

Kate MiddletonandPrince Williamare sharing the results of a survey that they administered ahead of World Mental Health Day that found that nearly all young people feel their friends are struggling with mental health issues.

The poll also found that around 60% of participants think that it’s very important for young people to have greater awareness and understanding of social and emotional skills. Additionally, 39% feel that they don’t manage their emotions very well.

The findings come as the couple and their Royal Foundationprepare to host a forum on mental healthfor young people in Birmingham on Tuesday for World Mental Health Day.

Teaming with the charity The Mix and BBC Radio 1,Exploring our Emotional Worldswill bring together 100 young people aged 16-24 to take part in workshops with the royals and have a conversation about how they manage their emotions and how they can be supported to build their resilience.

The meeting in Birmingham on Tuesday will see 100 young people join the royals and other delegates for “a conversation about how they manage their emotions and how they can be supported to build their resilience and protective factors such as healthy relationships which make it easier to navigate bumps in the road as they go through life,” the royal couple’s office at Kensington Palace said.

It will feature “famous faces from Radio 1 and the wider mental health space” and provide a space for young people “to talk about the specific mental health challenges their generation faces, explore what more they could do to understand and manage their emotions and discuss the solutions that could support them to better look after their own and each other’s mental well-being,” the palace added.

Challenging mental health stigmas, encouraging more understanding of it and tackling its effects, has been one of the key planks of William and Kate’s public work. It became widely associated with the couple, when they joined withPrince Harryin 2016 for the successful Heads Together campaign.

Meanwhile,Meghan Markleand Prince Harry made theirown World Mental Health Day plans public, via PEOPLE. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be in New York City on Tuesday for Archewell Foundation’s first-ever in-person event, which will provide a platform for parents navigating mental health challenges in the digital age.
