While speaking to Rolling Stones bassist Ronnie Wood and former Dire Straits guitarist Mark Knopfler at theTusk Awardsat The Savoy in London on Wednesday, Nov. 27, the Prince of Wales, 42, admitted he has a budding musician on his hands with his 6-year-old, according toThe Telegraph.

“My youngest is learning the drums. That’s why I spend my entire life with my fingers in my ears,” William told Wood, 77, and Knopfler, 75.
William also shares Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 9, with his wifeKate Middleton.
During the event, the prince presented the Prince William Award for Conservation in Africa, the Tusk Award for Conservation in Africa and the Tusk Wildlife Ranger Award.

Later, he told the attendees why he continues to be involved in conservation efforts.
“Tonight is a reminder that our planet continues to face terrifying environmental concerns, from climate change and habitat destruction to the exploitation of natural resources and an alarming downward trend in global biodiversity,” Prince William said. “Rainforests the size of countries are disappearing. And 1 million species are at risk of extinction, mostly due to human activity.”
He added that “now is the time” to work to stop “future generations from becoming disconnected from nature.”

“I have to ask — we’re in South Africa, one of the most amazing countries and continents for wildlife — do you have a favorite African animal?” Irwin, the 20-year-old son of the late “Crocodile Hunter"Steve Irwin, asked Prince William during their conversation on Signal Hill.
“It’s a really tough question.My children ask me this regularly,” William said before sharing his answer. “I think I’m going to have to say the cheetah.”
The prince was in South Africa to highlight biodiversity for his fourth-annualEarthshot Prize Awardsceremony. He established the awards in 2020.
