“HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE QUEEEEN!! My mumma, words cannot describe how much I love you, how thankful I am for all you do for me and those around you. You are a gift to the world. Here’s to you ma ♥️,” Izaak Theowrote on Instagramalongside a carousel of photos of the pair.

The next two photos feature the four-time Grammy winner holding her son as a child, while the final image features Izaak Theo as a child with his arm around his mother smiling at the camera.

Izaak Theo is no stranger to showing his love for Sade publicly. In September 2019, he shared how grateful he was for the support he received from his motheras he went through his transition.

After six months in the hospital, Izaak Theo — who publicly came out as transgender in 2016 — announced that he would finally be coming home.

“It’s been a long hard road but We did it!! We are coming home!!!!” hewrote on Instagram, as he thanked the “Kiss of Life” musician for all “the love you give me.”

Alongside the sweet tribute, Izaak Theo posted a photo of the pair cuddling up together at a restaurant, which he resurfaced in his recent birthday tribute to his mother.

During his transition, he kept fans apprised of the recovery process aftercompleting stage 1 of his phalloplasty, which he explained partly involved “building my urethra in my arm.”

Izaak Theo opened up about thetoll transitioning had taken on him.

“This process is trying, tiring, painful, emotionally exhausting, physically exhausting, uncomfortable (like I can’t sleep like a normal human being rn lol),” he wrote alongside a series of photos from the hospital. “I often ask myself “why the f— do I have to endure this to be who I am” but at the end of the day this is the path that was laid out for me and I’ll walk it to the end.”

“My dad always says “keep your eyes on the horizon” and that’s what I do, because through all this pain is the comfort that it’s not forever and I have the rest of my life ahead of me and I am so, SO DAMN EXCITED, I just have to remind myself to be patient sometimes as I’m sure we all do. Big up to my Mumma, Pappa, family and friends for all the support you give me on the daily, it’ll never be forgotten ☺️ 🤘🏾.”
